Sources & methodology

Scope and freshness

January 1, 2025 through October 29, 2026. All timestamps are hour-starting Indian Standard Time. This dashboard is a saved snapshot, not a live IEX feed. October 29 RTM includes only the five hours published in the captured snapshot. The 2025 curve backfill is still in progress.

Offers not cleared are not spare generation

Uncleared sell offers = max(total sell offers − MCV, 0), using hourly mean MW. These are exchange offers, not India's physical generation surplus, firm availability, or deliverable power. DAM and RTM cannot be added together as independent energy.

Curve prices are estimates

Supply is interpreted at upper price-band boundaries and demand at lower boundaries, consistent with the workbook. This interpretation is not independently confirmed by IEX. Incremental MW are cumulative differences; their prices are band midpoints. Hourly bid-price estimates pool quantity-weighted numerators over four valid quarter-hour curves. No missing prices are filled or extrapolated.

Price-ceiling scenario

The modeled increment includes only full supply bands whose lower bound is above the observed hourly MCP and whose upper bound is at or below the ceiling. The band containing MCP and bands cut by the ceiling are excluded. The additional-purchase calculation walks these bands in price order and reports a midpoint-weighted bid estimate and the marginal band's upper boundary. Neither is a predicted clearing price. Source-inconsistent curve hours are excluded from this scenario.

Aggregation and coverage

Offer volumes and MCV are mean MW. Clearing prices are MCV-weighted; zero-MCV MCP is undefined. Hourly curves are arithmetic mean cumulative MW across four valid quarter-hours, not a single auction. Their intersection need not equal observed hourly MCP/MCV. Curve endpoints can differ from snapshot totals. Unrepresented offers are not assigned prices. Multi-hour volume summaries are average GW, not GW added across hours.

Missing observations

Gray heatmap cells indicate missing data for the selected metric. Snapshot totals remain available even where curve backfill is pending. Ranking scenarios uses only complete, source-consistent curves; it can be biased while coverage is incomplete. Small monotonic rounding differences up to 0.05 MW are normalized as in the workbook; larger inconsistencies are rejected.
